Day 01: Kuala Lumpur - Cameron Highlands
Depart from your hotel in Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands, which is 1542 meters above sea level and famous for its world-renowned tea. We will stop by Batu Caves, where you can take a hike up several hundred steps into a limestone cave and view the splendors of the Hindu temple located within. Next on the list is the Royal Pewter Factory where tourists can watch pewter wonders in the making. En route to the Hill Resort, we will visit a cottage industry specializing in bamboo baskets and the Lata Iskandar Waterfall. After checking in, the Village and Nature Tour commences. Visit the Cloud Forest, the peak of Gunung Brinchang, and capture the view of the magnificent rolling tea hills, and finally end the day with a tour of Tea Factory. A local guide conducts the tour and the mode of transportation is via Land Rover.
Day 02: Cameron Highlands - Penang
We will begin the day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before proceeding to Penang, the Pearl of the Orient. En route visit the Gua Tempurung Cave, a spectacle cave and former hideout of the communist guerillas. Continue to Kellies Castles, an amazing leftover from the colonial times. William Kellie Smith, a wealthy British plantation owner, plan to build this splendid mansion for his yet unborn son. Smith died in 1926 and the mansion was never finished. Next to the mansion is a Hindu Temple, built for the 70 artisans which were brought in from Madras when a mysterious illness decimated the workforce. Drive to Kuala Kangsar the royal town of Perak. Visit the Ubudiah Mosque, the probably finest mosque in Malaysia, Istana Iskandariah and Istana Kenangan which was built in 1926 without the use of nails. m,Whilst journeying towards Penang, don�t forget to take some snapshots of the Penang Bridge which we will cross � this unique architectural wonder is the third largest bridge in the world. We arrive in the evening, and accommodation will be at Copthorne Hotel.
Day 03: Penang
Breakfast will be at the hotel. Then we move on for a tour of Penang. A must see is the Batik Factory, where intricate cloth making skills are displayed. Not to be missed are the splendorous temples on the island the Snake Temple and Wat Chayamangskalaram Temple. Then it is time for you to rest and relax for the rest of the day, or take your leisure time to explore the city, sample Penangs wondrous delicacies or perhaps even play by the beaches.
Day 04: Penang - Koto Bharu
Breakfast at hotel before we undertake our journey towards Pahang. Soon after the sumptuous meal we head off to Kota Bahru using the East West Highway which cuts through the main mountain range and offers breathtaking views of the tropical rain forest. You may even catch some elephants crossing the road if youre lucky.
Day 05: Kota Bharu - Tasik Kenyir
Start the day by having a good breakfast at the hotel. In the morning, therell be a short orientation tour through Kota Bharu. On your visit to the colorful wet market youre bound to find some beautiful items of interest, culture and quality Batik clothes and cloth, local produce for instance. Then we depart for Tasik Kenyir (Lake Kenyir), a magnificent lake surrounded by 1,000 acres of woodlands and holds a host of some 340 islands, 14 waterfalls, rapids, rivers and limestone caves within its grounds. Its no wonder Tasik Kenyir is the largest man-made lake in South East Asia. Later in the afternoon, its time to enjoy the tranquility of the rain forest or simply unwind to a drink on the hotel terrace. *Optional Tour: RM 100.-- / USD 27.- p.p., min. 2 persons (to be pre-booked in advance) Go on an exciting boat safari - you may see wild elephants swimming in the lake!
Day 06: Tasik Kenyir - Kuantan / Cherating
Breakfast will be at the hotel. Then its a nice drive to Kuantan/Cherating. En route we will stop by local villages to see the traditional way of living. You will have the chance to catch local boat and brassware being crafted. In the afternoon, its time to visit Cherating village where you will see Pandan leaves being weaved into bags, mats and crafts. Brown sugar production and trained monkeys plucking coconuts are other interesting things you will be shown.
Day 07: Kuantan - Kuala Lumpur
Breakfast at the hotel to start the day before we undertake the drive from Kuantan / Cherating back to Kuala Lumpur. En route, we�ll visit the Elephant Sanctuary Camp. The tour ends in Kuala Lumpur city.
